New campus Solarlux in the limelight

Showroom, office, producing business – the Solarlux-campus in Melle presents many things; and in addition a fascinating view.

Huge glass facades, light-flooded foyers, modern light installations – if you come close to the new Solarlux-reception building, you would not get the idea that behind those halls are huge production lines, instead one would expect a rather modern museum. Exactly this approach was pursued at the new construction of the campus. Through pictograms on the walls, colored lines on the floor and information boards, the building complex turns into a type of educational institution. At various points, special features of the construction are being pointed out: Whether it is movable, stored on air cushion exhibition rooms; offices, who hang from the ceiling like bird nests, thermal optimized sliding elements (TG-THERM® from Thiele Glas) or other energetic refinements. Another special feature of this new construction: The employees of the company had a say in how the new campus should be designed and what to focus on. That way the employees identify themselves with the new building which significantly simplifies “feeling comfortable in a new environment”. Therefore it is a versatile project which was examined from all angles in a detailed report by the German construction magazine (DBZ) in the first issue of the New Year.
