Architects and planners day
Glass facades are important means of design for modern architecture and impress with their aesthetic and functionality. By the extensive use of glass light-flooded areas and wide views are established and the appearance of our cities and landscapes are characterized. At the architects and planner day on 12th June 2014 top-class speakers informed about the material glass and structural glazing.
In three special subjects the main topic structural glazing was examined in detail:
- structural glazing: research, development, execution (Prof. Dr. Ing. Bernhard Weller and Dipl. Ing. Michael Engelmann, Technical University of Dresden)
- structural glazing using special PVB-interlayers (Matthias Haller, technical service of Eastman Chemical Industries)
- XXXL glass: from the planning stage to the final application (Reiner Scholz, responsible for sales and architectural consultancy at Thiele Glas)
Following the further training the participants became the possibility to experience traditional craftsmanship in combination with the latest technology during the factory tour.
