320 South Canal, Chicago (USA)
The new entrance area of the BMO Tower in Chicago is an eyecatcher. Thanks to the total of 825 m² installed glass, the new lobby looks highly modern and adorns the huge building complex. The installations of the approx. 3,000 x 12,500 mm laminated safety glass panes proved to be particularly challenging. There were high demands on the quality and flatness of the toughened glass and special packaging was necessary to ensure safe overseas transport as well. Thanks to colour neutrality and reduced surface refelection of the anti - reflective TG-PROVIEW glass, based on OptiView OW™, an optimal view is provided. The façade glass is structurally stiffened with 4-ply laminated safety glass fins. The structurally bonded areas are concealed with a digitally printed ceramic edge for a superior appearance. In these dimensions and design of the glass, this project is unique worldwide.
