Villa K. Thuringia (GER)
Top-quality insulation and timeless design
With its interior and exterior design the villa K in Thuringia perfectly suits to the unaffected surrounding nature and simultaneously presents exclusive design. The uncomplicated and innovative appearance is enabled by three different materials: steel, glass and concrete. During the realization additional disruptive elements at the facades were avoided. Up to three meter high and wide solar control insulated glass elements TG-THERM®sun and thermal insulation glass elements TG-THERM®plus provide the sustainability of the building and finally complete the idea of the concept, to form an entity with the nature.
Inside, three meter high sliding doors and partitions made of TG-ESG® establish an attractive appearance completed by milled shell-type handles in every individual element. The results are state-of-the-art and extremely functional living spaces enclosed by a large-surface glass facade.
The villa provides a perfect view to the valley beneath, roof greening as well as the garden support the fusion with the natural environment. For additional energy efficiency solar panels as well as recovery systems for sustainable heating were integrated in the living area. The leading architect Willem Jan Landman is especially proud of the realization of his aim, to provide an optimal view, to create a home with more energy, which at the same time seizes the nature in its design:
„We are proud of the fact that we’ve realized our ambition to make optimal use of the view, to create a home that produces its own energy, and to include nature, especially the mountain, in the design. We’ve succeeded in refining every single detail.“
