Safe at sea with TG-PROTECT^®-TVG

The hot springs resort Erding which is Europe’s largest swimming and spa world, has gained one more attraction since end of 2014.

Cause since then the Hotel Victory offers its guests a sleeping experience ‘on the high seas’, similar to holidays in the South Seas. Model for this extraordinary reconstruction of the hotel was the ship of the British admiral and sailor Lord Nelson. The copy of this ship is now surrounded by a tropical version of Venice, where it anchors. The 128 ‘cabins’ offer enough space for up to six persons and show their strength especially with comfort, high-quality building materials, state-of-the-art technology and last but not least with a breathtaking view from the balcony over the spa paradise. The balustrades of the balconies are shaped like the bow of a ship and are made of the heat-strengthened laminated safety glass TG-PROTECT^®-TVG. The totally 384 installed glass panes with dimensions up to 1618 x 1031 mm are altogether shaped by templates. The entire glass area is approximately 502 square meters. This type of balcony glazing makes the unique hotel project complete and demonstrates that holidays in paradise are not only available in the South.

The success story of the hot springs resort Erding began in 1999, since then the state-approved mineral spring was constantly extended. Beside the hotel ship as latest project, this includes also the swimming and slide area as well as sauna facilities.

Thomas Hammer, general manager of the Hammer Stahl-Manufaktur e.K., is especially proud of the implementation of the project: Based on the model, we developed a railing system, which came up to the expectations on the design. All components and sizes were supported bilaterally. In particular, it was our task to  bring the structural tolerances of the balustrades and window elements in line with our balconies during installation.
