Mirror reflex print achieves special effects
At the BAU 2015 in Munich an additional highlight of our screen printing range was presented: the mirror reflex print
The design variety of printing on glass has enlarged by a very particular effect, the mirror reflex screen print. The partially reflecting properties of these glasses convinced visitors of the large and leading international trade fair for architecture, materials and systems. So, various interested parties stopped at the Thiele Glas booth for glass panes and sliding doors refined by the unique screen printing technique.
Both, standard designs and different individual motifs, are applied to and burned into the glass up to 1,500 x 3,500 mm* by means of <link 320 - internal-link "Opens internal link in current window">screen printing method</link>. The special feature here is the ink, which is used and has a high-reflective appearance. Beside the mirror effect of the printing result, the color has one more special property which allows printing the glass on both sides. That means there is the opportunity to print the mirror reflex design on one side and ceramic ink as motif or full-surface print on the other side. The feasibility of this printing method depends much more on motif and size, in comparison to a standard printing technique. If requested, we would be pleased to consult you individually.
The mirror reflex print is especially used in the field of decoration. Particularly furniture glass or doors are presented in a new light. However, the print is also suited for exterior application. Thus, the Sparkasse Oberhausen used the mirror reflex print in order to give a special impression to the facade glazing.
Up to three meter high glass elements were delivered by Thiele Glas for this project. According to the design, also large-surface glass panes can be provided with this special effect. The opportunity to equip glass with a reflection décor shows once more the changeableness of this material and the relevance in the field of design.
