Practical relevance up close – exclusive insights for students
Over the past few weeks, Thiele Glas welcomed a few student groups under the heading “glass – a fascinating world”.
Conducted by Thiele Glas advisor Jan Evers, students and employees of the Technical University of Dresden – institute for building construction as well as HTWK Leipzig received insights into the flat glass refinement. Next to an overview about safety glass, insulating glass and design glass, they also learned about the new possibilities in glass production and processing of glass in oversizes up to 18 meters.
In the subsequent guided tour throughout the company, the guests were able to see the work of a flat glass refiner in full extent. They experienced at first hand the demonstration of the quality assurance and therefore an impressive demonstration concerning the stability of glass as a building material.
