Cantilever glass stairs, Viborg (DNK)
Transparent components, which can be placed in the right light as desired – this is how purely practical building parts become design objects. Thus, a glass staircase was installed in a Danish private house, in which the steps are only one-sided. The staircase consists of TG-STEP and custom-made special designs by TG-PROTECT®. The three- or four-layer laminated safety glass is made of low-iron glass. Since it has much lower iron oxide content, the glass unit does not become a tinge of green, because of the large thickness.
A special highlight of this design: the glass edges of the steps are LED-illuminated by the customer and can change their color simply by pressing a button. So, exquisite design and functionality go impressively hand in hand.
