Helios schools, Cologne (GER)
The word „ultra-modern“ takes on a whole new meaning with the construction of the holistic school complex of the Helios schools in Cologne. This new building represents a bright, open and conceptual new creation in terms of architecture. On the 11,000 m2 school grounds, a total of 5,000 m2 of glass was provided. The glasses insulated with TG-THERM®sun 3 - ply insulated glass, which each contains a laminated safety glass with TG-PROTECT® on the outside. These were finished with the highly effective bird protection PVB film Saflex®FlysafeTM3D and will now protect the light-flooded gym of the school building from bird strikes. The glass surface only has a 1% occupancy due to the 3D-shaped sequins, this offers perfect protection for passing birds and at the same time a clear view to the outside. In addition, the glass is equipped with the solar control coating CoolLite SKN 183 II and an additional grey PVB film.
