World's largest prestressed laminated safety glass

For years the production of overlength glass units is one important main task of Thiele Glas and its partners. With an exhibit of superlatives partner Eastman created a new highlight at the glasstec 2018.

Just one laminated safety glass unit with an imposing length of 18,000 mm was the eye-catcher at the glasstec. Eastman ordered the glass pane at Thiele Glas, Wermsdorf. The pane was professionally produced as TG-PROTECT^® DG and under supervision of specially planned staff of Thiele Glas and Eastman. After finished production the glass pane was mounted in a metal foot, that is just a few inches high. For the project SAFLEX Structural PVB film was used. After the assembly the impressive exhibit was carefully loaded into one of the world´s largest glass inloader. Over 500 kilometre and five days the glass composite had to travel – to arrive at its destination: trade fair Dusseldorf. Finally arrived the exhibit was setted up safely with the support of Heavydrive and special lifting machines. During the whole trade fair customers were impressed by the optical highlight, when visiting the Easman booth. Currently this glass pane is the world´s largest prestressed and laminated safety glass with SAFLEX Structural PVB.

The glasstec took place from 23. to 26. October 2018 on the grounds of the Dusseldorf fair. The Easman booth was located in hall 11, booth A 42.
