Thiele Glas supports regional soccer youth
„From the region – for the region“ – following this motto Thiele Glas has been pushing the regional trainee search for many years. Among other things, this can be seen in cooperations with local schools.
In addition Thiele Glas now chooses another way: From this year on the company supports JFV Union Torgau. At one hand the cooperation with the youth soccer team means a financial support for the club. But the focus of this collaboration is something else: “For us it is most important to encourage the young people – not only in sports. Rather we want to show them what is possible in our region – you don’t have to go to Leipzig or Dresden to get a good job”, says Sören Wachsmann, president of JFV Union Torgau. “In this way we can build bridges between sport and work and thus retain them in our clubs.”
Tobias Brion who is responsible for the trainees at Thiele Glas in Wermsdorf and has been youth coach at SC Hartenfels Torgau for several years now holds a similar opinion: “Of course football is the most beautiful side-game in the world – but still just a side issue. Every hobby soccer player knows how important a profound apprenticeship is and every professional will confirm this. With this cooperation we want to show the young players that both fit perfectly.”
The cooperation does not only mean financial support but furthermore different advanced education, applicant training and company insights. First successes can already be seen, as Tobias Brion told: “Last week we had an intern, who is now thinking of starting a traineeship as an industrial clerk here.”
This shows that the cooperation between JFV Union Torgau and Thiele Glas is a perfect symbiosis of sport and profession, so that young soccer players are perfectly educated for their future in more than one way.Back
