Education Park, Ezinge (NED)
Brilliant colors and an exciting design turned the education park Ezinge into our object of the month February 2015. In Meppel, the Netherlands, the building complex combines five different secondary schools and a sports facility. Right in the midst of this area the so-called ‘Beacon of Ezinge’ is located which truly lives up to its name. Strong colors decorate the exterior façade composed of 88 differently printed TG-PROTECT®-TVG glass panes. The graphic designs are made by the Dutch architects Driessen + Van Deijne in colaboration with atelier PRO. Our partner Si-X was responsible for the execution. The company located in the Dutch city Benthuizen offers glass solutions of every type. In cooperation with atelier PRO architekten and the design team of Driessen + Van Deijne a façade which presents glass art on the highest level was developed.
The unique color effects are possible due to the combination of digital printing (TG-PRINT®digital) and ceramic enameling (TG-EMAILLE) which has been applied to the rear side of the glass panes. The enameling was carried out with the RAL color 9003 (signal white). The tower itself functions as a symbol of the education area because it is also place of creativity, variety and synergy. The shining and vivid appearance is an eye-catcher for every student and visitor. ‘Beacon of Ezinge’ refers to all facets of creativity where the schools at the Education park (Stad & Esch, Drenthe College and de Ambelt) highly believe in.
