Glass art wall ensures feel-good ambience - Exclusive and individual wall design by using TG-PRINTdigital
The Württembergische Gemeinde-Versicherung (WGV) earned themselves a good reputation as municipal and special insurance company through their good insurance protection for public employees of Baden-Württemberg. At the same time the WGV is an important employer of that region with around 750 clerks in Stuttgart.
In recent years a new administration building has been integrated in the existing structures and directly connected with them. This also includes the integration of the historic building ‘Alte Wache’. Arranged in the connecting structure are the casino and the company restaurant where around 350 meals a day are consumed since the beginning of 2014.
For the redesign of the company-own canteen the architect’s office Hascher Jehle Architektur proposed wall decoration made of digital printed glass. The motif, an abstract map of the central Neckar region, has been created by Hansjörg Schneider and Daniel Lordick especially for this project and extends to the complete length of the casino wall now. Thiele Glas produced 138 single panes TG-PRINTdigital composed of tempered safety glass in dimensions up to 1500 x 3730 mm. All together they form a glass art wall with integrated door elements of 150 square meters in total. In order to allow that the printing gains optimum performance glasses were additionally provided with enameling on the backside. The colorful design as well as the regional orientation are much appreciated by the WGV-employees.
This reference proves: tilling, wallpaper, finery are back numbers. The current trend is towards wall glazing which offers totally new possibilities of interior design. Whether unostentatious, satinised, with pattern or as colored eye-catcher, transparent or o paque, there are no limits to the choice and range of design. That is the main reason why private as well as commercial and public constructors decide more and more for glass.
